Closest to liquidation

The whale positions nearest their liquidation price. A long is liquidated if the price falls to its level, a short if the price rises to it, assuming the rest of the account holds steady.

Questions

Which accounts count as whales?

Cockpit reads Hyperliquid's public leaderboard every day and tracks the largest accounts, up to 150, that hold at least $1M in perpetual futures. Positions are read from the chain, so they are what the account actually holds right now.

What does following a whale do?

Cockpit checks the account every few minutes and tells you when it opens, closes or flips a position worth $250K or more, by email and in the app. A free account can follow one whale; Cockpit Pro follows up to ten.

Where would a whale get liquidated?

Hyperliquid publishes each position's liquidation price. When any tracked whale position is near its level, Cockpit lists the closest: a long is liquidated if the price falls to its level, a short if it rises to it, assuming the rest of the account holds steady. Most whale positions sit far from liquidation.

Why are some books left out of the long and short totals?

An account holding one-sided positions across six or more coins is usually hedging a basket, not betting on each coin, so it is left out of the long and short split.
